After looking far and wide for horror novella for the spooky season, Halloween 2025, I stumbled across The Summer People. Over a merge 32 pages, Shirley Jackson builds an idillic summer holiday retreat destination only to tear it down. This creepy short story tells us about a New York City couple enjoying their summer holiday home, the dread builds thick and fast when they don't leave at the end of the summer.
